Frequently Asked Questions
Q.Do I need specific qualifications to volunteer?
Some specialized roles, such as counseling or technical support, may require relevant qualifications or experience. However, for many opportunities like mentorship, coaching, and community engagement, passion, commitment, and a willingness to learn are the most important qualities. SEP provides orientation and training for all volunteers.
Q.Can I volunteer remotely?
Yes. We offer a variety of remote volunteer opportunities, including mentorship support, communications, content creation, fundraising, grant writing, and social media management. During the application process, you can indicate your skills and preferred way of contributing.
Q.What is the minimum time commitment?
Time commitments vary depending on the role. For mentorship and youth engagement programs, we generally encourage a minimum commitment of three months to ensure consistency and meaningful impact. Short-term and event-based volunteering opportunities are also available throughout the year.
